I am having trouble finding a source for a custom application-icon. Two sites have not replied at all to the request for quoatation. I spoke with one place that does fabulous work, but he can not begin until late January and the price is out of budget at this time, although I hope to engage them in the future.

If you have good experience with someone, please let me know. I’ll let them know how I found them!

ErgMate is coming along nicely. The two biggest changes are the new ‘Power 10′ clip. This clip calls a build-up over 2 strokes then calls a power 10. It adjusts the timing so that the number is called just before you take the catch.

How do you prefer your coxswains to call a power 10? Specifically, what timing do you like of the stroke number call-out and the catch?

The second major change is that now preferences, such as window sizes and positions are automatically saved and restored for you. It is probably something that you won’t notice in an obvious way. Instead, the program will just ‘fit’ better.

Since 11/18:
o the simulated erg now contains number of strokes and it simulates the stroke-state (drive-recovery-drive..)
o preferences are automatically saved and restored
o new clip – Power 10

I took a break from ErgMate today to look around a bit at PyGame. Eventually found this game – Escape from Anathema Mines. Phil Hassey created it for the 2005 Ludum Dare contest. It’s a lot of fun, but I’m impressed that in a quick game (48 hours) with pygame he was able to add shading – note how the boulder blocks the miner’s light.

There are many higher-level libraries that wrap pygame. It’s hard to tell which one to use, or perhaps it’s better to just stay with pygame itself. Any ideas?

Note – Christmas comes early this year as there is a new release of pygame coming out in a week or two!
